1. Who makes BrassDogs Ornaments? BrassDog Ornaments are made in Rio Vista California by D. Barnes. 2. How are they made? Each is handmade using metal etching processes developed in ancient times. The etching process was refined by artists and printers in Europe in the 1500's and 1600's (Rembrandt being a famous artist that relied on etching skills. Most recently, the processes are much more refined and understood in modern times from the mid-twentieth century to now. 3. What are BrassDogs made of? They are metal. Brass is the most common material I etch, but I also etch Stainless Steel and Nickel Silver. I always try to buy material that contains the highest recycled content.
